While looking for my boyfriend at the beach, I met Anne Marie close to where her family has a trailer. Except for a long wide open beach, there is nothing, just nature with beautiful windshaped trees. She was very beautiful, so I asked her if I could take a picture. We are still in contact and I look forward to seeing her there again sometime."
Go: From Berlin, Usedom is two and a half hours by car and slightly longer by train.
Stay: Heringsdorf, a popular resort town on the island's northern coast, was a favorite spa destination for German emperors. Famous for its spa architecture, it is known as "the bathtub of Berlin." Rent a room in one of the gorgeous Wilhelminian mansions that line Heringsdorf's coastal promenade. Or rent a camper and park it at one of several campgrounds near the shore.
Eat: Try the herring pralines at Restraunt Stellwerk at the old train station in Heringsdorf.
Drink: Stop by the Usedomer Brauhaus for a locally brewed beer and a tour of the brewery.
